Musicians shouldn’t have to be their own booking agents, SoMe managers, and drivers – but right now, they have no choice
The creative core is drowning in admin. Is it even possible to be just an artist today?
Imagine a guitarist with a dream. She writes songs in a small apartment in Aarhus, plays shows with her band across Denmark, and maybe has an EP ready that deserves to be heard. But aside from writing the songs and performing them, she's also expected to:
- Reach out to venues and book gigs
- Plan transport and accommodation
- Post regularly on social media and respond to messages
- Create posters and graphics
- Handle payments, invoicing, and taxes
- Coordinate with sound engineers, venues, and bandmates
That’s not a job for one person — but that’s the reality for most independent musicians today.
A high-demand industry with limited support
The music industry has shifted. More artists work independently, which opens new doors — but also removes the safety net. There’s more freedom than ever, but less structure, less support, and more pressure.
Time and again, we’ve seen brilliant musicians burn out not because they lacked talent, but because they lacked time, tools, and help.
That’s why we’re building Beatnickel
We’re developing Beatnickel — a platform designed to give musicians structure, support, and breathing room. This isn’t just another booking app or social network. It’s a digital workspace tailored to the realities of life as an independent musician.
Tour Manager – less stress, more structure
One of our first core features will be the Tour Manager — a tool that helps musicians and bands:
- Organize and manage tour dates and gigs
- Share access with bandmates and collaborators
- Coordinate logistics, transport, and accommodation
- Keep venue and crew contacts in one place
- Track payments, riders, and communication
No more juggling between spreadsheets, group chats, and email threads. Everything will be in one place.
A network built for working musicians
Alongside the Tour Manager, we’re building a professional network where musicians can connect with:
- Bookers
- Sound engineers
- Photographers
- Designers
- Roadies
- Other musicians
We want to make it easier to find the right people for the job — without relying on luck, outdated contact lists, or Facebook groups. Beatnickel will be the digital backstage pass to the music community.
Time to reclaim the artist’s role
In the end, this isn’t about tech. It’s about giving artists space to create. It’s about making it possible to focus on the music again — without drowning in admin.
We believe it should be possible to be just an artist — if that’s what you want. And we believe the industry needs new tools, built around the needs of those who make the music.
Beatnickel is our way of making that happen. And this is just the beginning.
