Why We’re Building Beatnickel – and How We’re Working Toward Product-Market Fit

When you build a startup, there are countless pieces of advice and just as many pitfalls. But one principle always holds true:
You need to know your market, understand the problem – and have a real reason to build the solution. Many call it “scratch your own itch.”

The problem doesn’t need to be new. More often, it’s about creating a better solution than what already exists – or rethinking the way the problem is solved altogether.

What We Want With Beatnickel

With Beatnickel, we’re building a platform where musicians, bands, rehearsal spaces, venues, and other players in the music ecosystem can access:
- The best networks to find each other
- The best tools to organize songs, rehearsals, and concerts
- The best opportunities to make music commercially viable
Our mission is clear: we want to help musicians make a living from music – not just survive.

Why I’m Building It

I’ve been part of the music world for more than 50 years. I’ve played in bands, stood on countless stages, organized concerts and festivals, and been active in musicians’ associations. I know both the joys and the frustrations – and I’ve seen how much better things could be if we had the right tools.

That’s why I feel prepared to build Beatnickel.

How We Work

At this stage, we’re focusing entirely on building the best product possible:
- We develop features we believe bring value to musicians.
- We test them with a sample of our target users.
- We adjust and optimize based on feedback.
- Then we test again.
And we keep repeating this cycle – because in our world, everything is a test until we reach what every startup dreams of: product-market fit.
We’re not attending expos. We’re not pitching to investors right now. That will come later. For now, all our energy is going into building. Because without a product that truly solves a problem, everything else is meaningless.
